This course provides firsthand training to update your ​Provide First Aid Statement of Attainment, focusing on ​refreshing CPR skills and scenarios in an engaging learning ​environment.

Participants will also cover various first aid situations in the theory ​component, including management of shock, medical emergencies, burns, ​fractures, poisons, bleeding, allergic reactions, and soft tissue injuries.

This workshop is suitable for individuals who are new to First Aid training or ​those whose Statement of Attainment is nearing expiration. It meets the ​First Aid requirements for various industries and is nationally recognised, ​and upon successful completion of the workshop, participants will receive a ​Statement of Attainment.

The course covers assessing the casualty, providing safety, ​accessing emergency services, and using resources to provide ​first aid, such as providing CPR and using a defibrillator, ​administering an autoinjector for anaphylaxis, administering ​asthma medication, assisting someone choking, managing ​casualties with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock.

This workshop offers firsthand training for individuals seeking to ​enhance their proficiency in advanced resuscitation techniques. ​Participants will gain practical insights into CPR procedures, ​automated external defibrillator operation, and oxygen delivery ​equipment usage.

First Aid is a prerequisite course before enrolling in The ​HLTAID015 oxygen course.

This course setenables students to complete both courses ​in one learning session.

Rod Withyman is the Training Manager and Head Trainer at Whitsunday Maritime ​Academy, bringing his extensive maritime expertise and passion to the forefront ​of marine education. Holding qualifications including Master IV and MED 2 in ​Maritime Operations, Rod is a seasoned professional dedicated to shaping the ​future of the maritime industry.

His commercial and private marine experience includes roles as a maritime ​Captain for commercial maritime companies such as SeaLink and Kaivati ​Shipping in Fiji. Additionally, he has skippered and crewed on a wide variety of ​vessels, from super yachts to sailing catamarans.

At Whitsunday Maritime Academy, Rod focuses on equipping students with the ​essential skills, knowledge, and practical experience needed to become ​confident and competent marine professionals. Rod's goal is to foster a learning ​environment where students are not only well-prepared for their maritime ​careers but also inspired by the same passion for the industry that drives him.
